Seika Machinery Offers Portable DH-35A Meter for Trace Dissolved Hydrogen Measurement

TORRANCE, CA — October 2026 — Seika Machinery, Inc., a leading provider of advanced machinery, materials and engineering services, announces the DH-35A Portable Dissolved Hydrogen Meter, a compact analytical instrument designed to measure trace concentrations of dissolved hydrogen in water.

Combining high sensitivity, rapid response and flexible power options, the DH-35A supports on-site measurements and laboratory analysis in applications where dissolved hydrogen levels can provide important information about water quality and system conditions.

Designed for applications including thermal and nuclear power plants, corrosion testing facilities and water quality management, the DH-35A measures dissolved hydrogen concentrations from 0 parts per billion (ppb) to 10 parts per million (ppm). Its ability to detect hydrogen at microgram-per-liter (µg/L) levels makes it suitable for monitoring applications that require sensitive measurement of low dissolved hydrogen concentrations.

The instrument uses a membrane-type polarographic electrode and delivers a 90% response in 30 seconds or less, enabling operators to obtain measurement results quickly. An LCD display presents readings, while a manually selected measurement range accommodates different concentration levels. Automatic temperature compensation operates across a range of 5°-40°C to support measurement consistency under varying sample conditions.

A key feature of the DH-35A is its atmospheric calibration capability, which eliminates the need for hydrogen standard gas when this calibration method is used. The instrument also supports alternative calibration methods, including electric zero, 100% nitrogen gas and hydrogen standard gas calibration, giving users flexibility to select an appropriate approach for their measurement requirements.

The DH-35A is designed for practical use in industrial environments as well as laboratories. Its drip-proof construction helps protect the instrument against water exposure, while its compact flow cell is designed for straightforward operation and maintenance. The flow cell also helps prevent interference from external air, supporting reliable sample measurement.

For added flexibility, the meter can operate using six C-size alkaline batteries or an AC power adapter. This dual-power capability makes it suitable for measurements in locations where a fixed power supply may not be readily available, as well as routine laboratory use. A standard analog output of 0 to 1 V for each measurement range allows the instrument to connect to external recording equipment for continuous measurement recording.

With dimensions of approximately 250 × 160 × 95 mm and a weight of approximately 2 kg, the DH-35A combines portability with the measurement capabilities required for industrial monitoring and analytical work. Standard accessories include a dissolved hydrogen electrode, flow cell, output cable, carrying case, operating manual, test batteries and AC adapter.

By combining sensitive dissolved hydrogen measurement with a portable design, rapid response and multiple calibration options, the DH-35A provides power generation facilities, corrosion testing laboratories and industrial water quality professionals with a practical tool for monitoring dissolved hydrogen in water.
